My lovely Charlie,

You are now in the world. Your daily activities are listed below in order of time spent on each.

  1. Feeding.
  2. Sleeping.
  3. Crying.
  4. Pooping.
  5. Crying while getting a diaper changed.
  6. Awake while not crying.

If you didn’t pick up on it in the list, you’re definitely a crier. it’s ok, it runs in your blood to be such.

And if some of your crying could maybe  be interpreted as the closest thing to ranting you can do at this age, then yeah, that runs in your blood too.

But, I digress.

I can’t wait for you personality to really start showing up.

You smile for brief moments every now and then, and it’s a shot of pure joy to my heart, especially when it happens in my arms.

And you sigh the cutest little sighs, like somehow you’re tired or worn out from this blissful living state you’re in.

Neither your mom nor I get nearly enough sleep anymore. Really hoping you get into that sleeping 12 hours a day phase soon.

Beyond all of that, I am already concerned and planning for your future. How I can raise you to be the best version of you that you can possibly be.

I love you so much Charlie Hope.

Your Dad.
