nothing to you and i don’t know why.

this was too bitterly ironic not to share.

Apparently, your life theme song is the number one hit from the day you turned eighteen.

My Life Theme Song?

Everything You Want by Vertical Horizon.

Too Appropriate and Uncanny and full of bitter irony? Yes.

Use this link to find your life theme song if you want.

I am everything you want
I am everything you need
I am everything inside of you
That you wish you could be
I say all the right things
At exactly the right time
But I mean nothing to you and I don’t know why
And I don’t know why

threes for ease.

“Christian is a great noun and a poor adjective.” – Rob Bell

I am really digging velvet elvis. It’s not so much learning new material, but finding a name/face/folder for the undefined theological angst in my life over the past few years.

Love is so essential. Seriously.

My “enemies” are often people who find sin in everything and shelter themselves from everything in life that isn’t sponsored by first assembly or chi alpha.

But Jesus still wants me to love them.

THAT is truly subversive to those of use who already considered ourselves subservise.

I am so much a work in progress.

He’s still working on me.

To make me what I ought to be.

When I was a kid singing that children’s tune, I never thought it would still ring true.

I ate with Mike Patz today. Per his request.

He restored my faith in first assembly.

There really ought to be a term besides megachurch for a church that honestly tries not to be one, but continues to grow anyways.

Megachurches do not give away 60% of their income to missions and the poor.

Mega churches cater to rich, older people; they don’t maintain a 40-50% college student (read: poor) constituency.

Whatever you wanna call it, First Assembly is not a mega church.

Anyway, Lunch was good. And I’m not just talking about the French dip.

I am ridiculously stoked about The Office. Miles Finch summed it up well:

“I’m just psyched out of my mind about…ya’ know, it’s just one of those ideas where you’re like, YES!”  – Miles Finch (Angry Elf from Elf)

I put up a few pics.

And in closing, you should come to 1982 tonight (Thursday night).

Something with Hands (aka berto, me, dump, aaron) are playing some music.

Ok, goodnight, all.
